E3-Ventilation Ancillary Services

Ventilation systems can be part of rapid system performance (FCR/FCR-D/FCR-N) through the influence of airflow. The electricity grid's need for increased/reduced load results in short-term effects on operations, typically for 10-30 sec. after which the plants return to normal operation. Demand-controlled ventilation ensures that the influence in the ventilation is subsequently exploited by returning to the starting point 

Integration into ancillary services entails that several requirements need to be met:

ü  Bi-meters must be installed on the consumption, so it is possible to document changes in the operation

ü  The local control system must be upgraded to make it possible to oversteer the operations and raise/lower ventilation for a short period

ü  Ventilation system must be operated using AC drives
