BESS - Big Batteries

Battery systems are considered by many as vital components in the electricity grid of the future, where uncertainty about production from renewable sources must be solved.

Large batteries have value for the electricity grid alone, but should also be included in systems where the owner benefits from the battery's storage for their own operations as well.

The value is MUCH more than just buying cheap power to use it later!

The BESS Unit integration must take place in such a way that applicable requirements are met:

ü  Energinet has specific requirements for approval

ü  Building permit is required

ü  If BESS is to be included as an emergency power reserve, it is important that the control supports “island operation”

ü  The Bess unit comes with guarantees from the manufacturer, where the operating conditions must be observed.
